VITAL SUPPORT SYSTEMS
AND EXHIBIT RESOURCES MIDWEST PARTNER TO MAKE A BANNER DISPLAY
Normally
majority rules - but in this case the banners did. And they towered
above the competition.
With multiple 10' spaces and only one 20' space reserved for upcoming
trade shows, Vital Support Systems knew they should purchase a
10' display, but really wanted a 20' booth for Iowa Technology
Showcase. David Backstrom and Mike Wohlenhaus of Vital also thought
it would be cool to have a tower or column of some kind to get
"above" the rest of the exhibitors and the competition.
While brainstorming with sales staff at Exhibit Resources Midwest
the solution presented itself in the form of banners. Vital Support
Systems conducts a lot of training seminars throughout the year
at remote locations. A banner to let attendees know that they
are in the right spot would be valuable and would allow the banners
to serve a dual purpose. When the banners are not "working" they
are on display in the front office telling customers of new products
and services. Using 3 of these banners to create a 10' triangular
tower took a little doing, but the results were dynamic, and literally
heads and shoulders above the rest of the exhibitors. Vital staff
added a flashing red light to the very top to act as a beacon
to the booth.
Once the size dilemma was solved, the next issue was how to differentiate
Vital from the other exhibitors. ERM Graphic Designer Gabe Bauman
stepped up to the plate. Using the "dot" from the I in the Vital
logo, Gabe graphically created a multi-tone dot pattern in a vibrant
purple and faded it into an oversized muted circuit board for
the four-panel photomural. He maintained the circular motion with
blue accent portals showing the staff in action. The background
pattern was carried over into the banners, giving continuity to
the exhibit. The four-panel photomural was placed on a 10' Featherlite
Formula unit with black end caps to accent the black Vital name.
Computer workstations were created with a Featherlite double case
to counter conversion kit and pop up counter unit, both in black.
The vibrant purple and classic black created a highly professional
look that drew in the crowds.
The display debuted at the Iowa Technology Showcase, October 24-25,
2001 in Des Moines, IA. Response to the new look was overwhelming,
generating new business and market awareness.
