COMPRESSOR
CONTROLS CORPORATION AND EXHIBIT RESOURCES MIDWEST DEDICATED TO
SUCCESS
Des Moines, IA - When Compressor Controls Corporation (CCC) needed
an innovative, hands-on display to showcase their control products,
they turned to their partner, Exhibit Resources Midwest.
"You have to be partners in ideas, perception and delivery," says
Stan Pshonik, CCC's Director of Corporate Marketing Communication.
"The tradeshow booth is our oversized business card".
Compressor Controls has relied on the expertise of ERM for the
last 10 years. ERM staff, Robert Ensley, President and Matt Scott,
Design Director, worked closely with Pshonik and the rest of CCC's
marketing communications team to make sure the new design met
their needs.
Compressor Controls wanted to accomplish several objectives with
their new exhibit design. First, they wanted to make a statement
about the company, which just moved into new world headquarters
in Des Moines. Their previous display had been an 8' high x 20'
inline modular display; the new display, a 16' high, 20'x 20'
island. Along with the new size they wanted to instill an industrial
feel from the display, reminiscent of the oil fields where their
products are used, making booth staff and visitors feel right
at home. Truss, perforated nylon panels, Octanorm aluminum-extruded
framework, and faux metal laminates were used to create this industrial
look. Because CCC's business is associated with the rotation of
the turbines, a dynamic circular banner and rotating sign conveyed
the feeling of movement and helped complete the image. The banner
has graphics on both the top and the bottom. The George R. Brown
Center in Houston has an elevated walk way next to the show floor.
With the double-sided graphics on the fabric sign, people can
see CCC's Booth from inside and outside the exhibit hall. The
rotating sign provides attention-getting movement and serves as
a homing device to for CCC customers to follow. This sign can
be removed if exhibit halls have height restrictions.
Multiple workstations for one-on-one education and discussion
as well as real-life graphics for visual aids meet these needs.
"They want people to view the controllers from all angles and
be able to interact with them as if they were in the real world
situation," says ERM Designer Matt Scott.
The versatility of Octonorm as well as the flexibility of the
design allows the booth to be utilized in a wide array of configurations.
The two stand-alone workstations can be moved to any area of the
booth or removed completely when booth space is limited.
The circular banner is supported by the three demo/workstations
that tie the display together.
Graphics are set into the Octonorm frame in three areas and are
easily changed to incorporate new products and technology. The
perforated lexan and "open" spaces in the framework allow the
eye to view the big picture.
The four-sided center unit provides more graphic display as well
as substantial storage for product literature and promotional
items.
This display will debut at the 30th Annual Texas A & M Turbomachinery
Symposium & Trade Show, September 18-20, 2001 in Houston, TX.
It will be the first time CCC has had an island booth at the show.
